The HBCU Grid project is designed to support the creation of renewal energy projects on HBCU campuses and international partnerships between HBCU’s, MI’s and international institutions.  Planned technologies include solar, wind, biofuel, geothermal, waste and LED lighting.  Benefits of the program include:

  • Renewal "green" energy products reduce the use of current oil/coal production
  • Sun-generated energy moves us closer to energy independence
  • Training programs for solar installers and designers supports economic development
  • Long-term energy cost reduction
  • Significant federal and state tax breaks for creating renewable energy developments
